While in areas this relied more on straight-up pop conventions, Day 6 have not lost their edge (for the most part). Yes, they err more on the “pop” side of pop-rock. But, hey, it’s a good album. In the end, that’s all that matters. It doesn’t speak to me in the same way some of their earlier work did, but it’s still solid and stays mostly true to the signature sound the band has cultivated. Bright pop melodies and hooks with genuine rock sprinkled in to keep things interesting.
