Let’s just get the obvious out of the way. Ledisi’s voice is not to be trifled with. She is an astounding vocal talent that has never gotten the credit she deserves. So I’m laying her roses and sunflowers at her feet now. All of that out of the way, I really expected more from an album with this title. It really hits one note musically and stays there. Her vocal work is the saving grace here. The album construction and uninspiring musical accompaniment left me somewhat cold.
