This was a surprising discovery for me this year. Not exactly an earthshattering masterpiece. But what “Calambre” lacked in anything really innovative it made up for in some truly interesting musical choices. Nods to funk, lo-fi, and R&B, Nathy Peluso isn’t that groundbreaking. But she is an artist who pays respect with some success to those who came before her.
