I don’t know where I’ve been to not know this duo, but damn I’ve been sleepin’! I defined them as a First Nations Year of the Ox. Yes, I’m aware that does them a disservice. But I mean it with all respect. As with YOX, Snotty Nose Rez Kids have a fire in them, a raw energy like lightning that strikes and burns everything in its path. While not always as lyrically dexterous as some of their contemporaries, there’s no denying the skill, the flow and the delivery. These dudes gave us an EP, and it was some of the hardest hip hop to come out of 2020.
