2020 must’ve been the year of artists deciding to troll me with just a nibble and nothing more! I’d been waiting for a Zero 7 album for quite some time. Instead of that, I get a four-song EP. Yes, yes… I did kick rocks and pout like a 5-year-old denied dessert before dinner. That being said, there’s so much of that classic Zero 7 soul all over this piece I couldn’t be too upset. Make no mistake, I was put out when the last note of “Outline” faded into the ether and there was nothing after it. But this album managed to emotionally manhandle me in just under 20 minutes. I can’t ask for more than that from anybody, no matter the length of the work.
